Some Preparations

So here we are, 49 days from the start of my career (well, sort of) and I have been doing a little “preparing.”  I hate going into any situation totally blind, so I have taken it upon my self to read a couple of books, you know, just to get an idea.  I am reading:

Now, I know these books aren’t going to prepare me for everything I will encounter in law school, they have given me so good tips and tricks. 

Also, I was sent a list of “suggested” reading from MC.  Two pages worth!  I don’t intend to try to read it all, but I will make a few selections and go to the library and check out a few. 

My books have mentioned a few big name cases that I think I should familiarize myself with before the first day of school.  Roe v. Wade (I remember from HS), Bakke Case, and Marbury v. Madison.

I have also been researching computers, trying to figure out an appropriate backpack, and getting everything in order for our move.  

My ”crazy” dreams have started and I’m very excited that the stores are showing signs of stocking school supplies very soon!

What I’m Reading for Law School-#1

So I've ordered a couple of books to help me prepare for the fall. This is my first venture. I also received a reading list (2 pages worth) of “suggested” reading material. I will be making a trip to the library to pick up a few of those some time this week. I really want to be on top of things when I get to orientation. Wish me luck!

We Have a Home:)

We made a trip to Jackson today to turn in some of hubby’s papers for his job and do some house hunting.  We already had an apartment lined up in Ridgeland, but because of financial reasons, we were unable to make the July 7th move and they were very unwilling to help us at all.  We decided that we should look for another place.  With 2 slightly large dogs, finding an affordable place that would allow us to move at the end of July has been difficult.  I was searching craigslist and I came across a house in Pearl.  We called and they said they would allow our dogs and that we could come look at it.  On Monday, while we were there, we went to look and we loved it.  It’s rather small (800 sqft) but it is adorable and I have a feeling we will be much happier there than in an apartment.  It’s 5 miles to my school and 7 to hubby’s.  I can’t wait to get moved in.
